🎶 Transformational Lesson of the Week! 🎶

This week’s "Transformational Lesson of the Week" goes to Mr. Beeny, our incredible Band Director, for the energy, passion, and pride he continues to bring to our music program!

In just the past few weeks, our band has been everywhere—performing at home football games, marching proudly in the Homecoming Parade and the Lebanon Junction Parade, and capping it all off with an amazing Fall Band Concert that showcased their talent and hard work. Their performances have been nothing short of electric—especially when they learned and performed Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” after only about 30 minutes of practice!

Mr. Beeny has transformed the band experience into something deeply personal and learner-led, giving students a voice and choice in song selection and performance opportunities. This empowers them to take ownership of their learning, connecting music to the real world through community events and public performances. The collaboration, creativity, and confidence his students display show that they are becoming true Effective Communicators, Community Contributors, and Productive Collaborators—all key elements of our district’s Graduate Profile.

Whether it’s rehearsing after school, leading the charge at a parade, or creating unforgettable moments at our football games, Mr. Beeny and his students embody what it means to be transformational learners—driven by passion, purpose, and pride.

👏 Congratulations, Mr. Beeny, for inspiring our students to perform, connect, and shine beyond the classroom!

⚽ Congratulations to Our Record-Breaking Girls’ Soccer Team! ⚽

What a historic season for our Lady Cougars Soccer Team! This year’s squad became the winningest team in school history, finishing with an outstanding 16-5-3 record, earning District Runner-Up honors, and advancing to the Regional Finals for the first time ever!

Individually, our players also shattered records and earned statewide recognition:

  • Savannah McKendree – Leading scorer in the entire state with 67 goals, 18th in assists (24), and named First Team All-Region.

  • Roslyn Marcum – Second Team All-Region, ranked 31st in the state with 18 assists.

  • Cami Bickett – Second Team All-Region.

  • Chloe Hurst & Malia Hagan – Third Team All-Region; Malia also ranked 9th in the state with 277 saves, setting a new school record!

  • Katie Merriman & Gabbie Turbeville – Honorable Mention All-Region.

A huge shoutout to our seniors — Autumn Mattingly, Olivia Graves, Mackenzie Kaufman, and Emily Bellucci — for leading this incredible run and leaving a legacy of excellence.

We couldn’t be prouder of this team’s effort, heart, and history-making season. The future is bright for BC Girls’ Soccer — get ready to see even more records fall in the years to come! 💪🐾
