Cougar News is Bullitt Central’s weekly newsletter with important updates, upcoming dates, and celebrations for our students, families, and community.

Important Updates:

❄️ Weekend Activities Update ❄️

With winter storms predicted in the forecast, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. As a result, all BCPS extracurricular activities, practices, and athletic events scheduled for Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25 have been canceled.

Thank you for your understanding, and please stay safe and warm this weekend! 🧣☃️

❄️ Winter Weather Reminder ❄️

With winter comes the possibility of snow days. Families will be notified by BCPS if we have a traditional snow day or an NTI day.

Please note: You will not receive a notification when school resumes the following day.
For example, if you receive a message on Sunday evening stating school is closed on Monday due to snow, and school is back in session on Tuesday, no additional notification will be sent.

👉 No news is good news! If you do not hear from BCPS, please plan for school as usual.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate winter weather together. ❄️

In the event that we have an NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) day next week, students will follow a modified schedule that includes shorter class periods and built-in support time.

Teachers will communicate expectations and learning activities through Google Classroom. Students are strongly encouraged to attend virtual office hours if they need extra help or support.

📌 Attendance Reminder:
Students must check in with their 3rd period teacher for attendance purposes.

AM BCHS students (ATC check-in): 9:00 AM

PM BCHS students (ATC check-in): 11:15 AM
Check-ins should occur during your regularly scheduled ATC class time.

Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to support student learning—no matter the setting. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

📚 Scheduling for the 2026–27 School Year 📚

Our school counselors recently met with all underclassmen to discuss class scheduling for the upcoming school year. Next week, counselors will begin meeting one-on-one with students to schedule their classes.

👉 Class Scheduling Information

We encourage families to talk with their child about their class selections for next school year and review the scheduling sheet students brought home last week 📝.

🗓️ Next Steps:
Students will meet individually with their counselor next week to finalize their schedules.

📧 Counselor Contacts:
Ms. Katie Newton (Last names A–L): katie.newton@bullitt.kyschools.us
Ms. Beth Root (Last names M–Z): beth.root@bullitt.kyschools.us

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s counselor. Thank you for your continued support in helping students plan for success! ✨
