๐Ÿ“ Attention Juniors & Seniors - March 18 is SAT / Job Shadow Day! ๐Ÿ’ผ

This week, all Bullitt Central juniors participated in our SAT Bootcamp as we continue preparing for our transition from the ACT to the SAT. A special thank you to Kids First Education for partnering with us to provide focused instruction and helpful strategies to support our students as they prepare for this important assessment.

The SAT will take place on March 18, and it is an important opportunity for our juniors to demonstrate their learning and open doors for postsecondary opportunities. Families can support their students by reminding them of the importance of:
โœ”๏ธ Doing their very best
โœ”๏ธ Getting plenty of rest the night before
โœ”๏ธ Arriving to school on time
โœ”๏ธ Bringing a fully charged Chromebook

While juniors are taking the SAT, seniors will participate in Job Shadow Day, giving them the opportunity to explore potential career paths by spending time with a professional in a field of interest or completing community service. Students must complete a minimum of six hours and have their experience verified by their supervisor.

Students should bring the completed verification form back to their English teacher (or the front office if they do not have an English class). The Job Shadow Verification Form can be accessed here:

We are proud of the effort our students are putting into their preparation and look forward to seeing them shine both on test day and in their career exploration experiences! โœจ

๐ŸŽจ Transformational Lesson of the Week โ€“ Ms. Lupton & Mr. Hooper! ๐Ÿšš

Congratulations to Ms. Lupton and Mr. Hooper for being recognized for our โ€œTransformational Lesson of the Week!โ€ ๐Ÿ‘

In this engaging cross-curricular project, Ms. Luptonโ€™s Art 3 students are partnering with Mr. Hooperโ€™s Business & Marketing Essentials students to bring creative food truck concepts to life. Business Marketing students developed the original food truck ideas and branding concepts, and Art 3 students are creating illustrations and design mock-ups based on those ideas. Throughout the process, the art students are consulting with the Business Marketing students to ensure their designs align with the original vision and making revisions based on their feedback. Once finalized, the art students will paint a food truck model representing the completed concept.

This project is a great example of how authentic learning experiences reflect our districtโ€™s Graduate Profile competencies:

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Effective Communicator: Students explain design concepts, ask questions, and incorporate feedback from their peers.

๐Ÿ“š Mastery Learner: Students apply and refine skills in design, branding, and visual communication while revising their work based on critique.

๐Ÿค Community Contributor: Students support one another across classes and contribute to a shared final product.

๐Ÿ’ก Innovative Problem Solver: Students creatively translate business ideas into visual designs and make adjustments to better meet the intended vision.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Productive Collaborator: Art and Business Marketing students work together to strengthen ideas and improve the final designs.

๐Ÿงญ Self-Directed Navigator: Students manage their progress through multiple stages of the projectโ€”from concept development to the final 3-D model.

This lesson is a fantastic example of real-world learning, creativity, and collaboration in action! ๐Ÿพโœจ

**A special thank you to Mr. Connorโ€™s Engineering students for their collaboration and contribution to this project! They helped cut out the wooden food truck models that the art students will be painting, bringing an additional layer of hands-on engineering and craftsmanship to the project.**
