🎪✨ Transformational Lesson of the Week: Mr. Juberg ✨🎡 |
Math meets fun in Mr. Juberg’s Geometry class! Students designed and built their own carnival games, calculated the geometric (theoretical) probability of winning, then invited classmates to play to determine the experimental probability.
Their final challenge? Writing a clear summary explaining how the two probabilities compared.
This engaging, hands-on lesson beautifully reflects our district’s Graduate Profile competencies:
🎓 Mastery Learner – Students applied geometric probability concepts in a real-world context, deepening their understanding through both calculation and analysis.
💡 Innovative Problem Solver – Designing a working game required creativity, critical thinking, and iteration.
🤝 Productive Collaborator – Students worked together to design, build, and test their carnival games, sharing ideas and problem-solving as a team.
🧭 Self-Directed Navigator – Students took ownership of their projects, managing time and making adjustments to improve their outcomes.
🗣️ Effective Communicator – Through their written summaries, students clearly explained their thinking and compared theoretical vs. experimental results.
This lesson is a great example of how meaningful, student-centered learning can bring content to life while building essential skills for the future. Way to go, Mr. Juberg and students!
