✨ Transformational Lesson of the Week: Ms. Zorn! ✨ |
Ms. Zorn’s AP Government students are bringing the future of politics to life through an engaging 2032 presidential election simulation. This lesson is a powerful example of authentic learning because it places students in real-world roles, challenges them with meaningful tasks, and connects classroom content to life beyond school.
💡 Personal: Students connect their own perspectives and interests to the work as they develop candidates, take positions on real issues, and shape campaign messages that reflect their ideas and values.
🎯 Student-Owned: Students take full ownership of the process—from creating candidate identities and platforms to designing campaign strategies, websites, and outreach efforts—making meaningful decisions every step of the way.
🧠 Student-Led: The learning is driven by students as they research, collaborate, problem-solve, and create campaign products. They are even leveraging tools like Google Gemini to design and produce campaign ads, elevating both creativity and innovation.
🌍 Real World: This simulation mirrors the structure and demands of real political campaigns, including messaging, scheduling, fundraising, and media production, giving students practical insight into the political process and related careers.
✨ This powerful learning experience builds critical thinking, creativity, and a deeper understanding of how government works beyond the classroom.
👏 Great work, Ms. Zorn and students! Keep building the future!
