Friday Message from Mr. Lightle

"As we wrap up another week, I wanted to share how proud I am of our students. Along with the top notch instruction, I’ve seen incredible displays of kindness, resilience, and "Charger Pride" in our hallways this week.

Whether it was students collaborating on tough projects or supporting one another on the field, the energy at Bullitt East remains second to none.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for the support you provide these students every day. It’s a privilege to work with your children.

Enjoy a well-deserved weekend with your families!"

Charger Connect Weekly Focus

This week during Charger Connect, students participated in a lesson focused on bullying awareness and prevention. The session allowed flexibility outside of the regular curriculum and addressed multiple bullying standards. Students explored the key components, types, and impacts of bullying, learned how to distinguish bullying from other negative behaviors, and discussed appropriate response strategies. The lesson also reviewed school rules and expectations, along with how to respond to and report bullying. Through this session, students developed a deeper understanding of bullying dynamics and gained essential skills to help prevent bullying within our school community.

Mr. Reed's NTI Day - ABAPOP
"Anything But A Piece of Paper"

1) Work must include: A) a valid right triangle (a^2 + b^2 should in fact = c^2) (hint... Pythagorean Triples make it easy); B) Markings to indicate theta, equals, 90-degrees, and all appropriate side measurements; and C) a valid trigonometric equation (choose anyone you like - just make sure it's correct).

2) Construction should consist of a minimum of three types of things.  Examples: things I found in my desk drawers, things from a Monopoly board game, things I moisturize with, things from my kitchen pantry, things I wouldn't expect to find between the cushions of my sofa but did, things I build with... get creative

3) List your "Things" in the description of your submission, or you can write them on a piece of paper and submit it as an additional photo.  For example:

My triangle: "Things I measure with"
My triangle side lengths: "Things from my candy drawer"
My symbols (theta, equals, etc): "Things I had in my desk drawers"
My trigonometric equation: "Things I had in the cups and cubbies on top of my desk"

Important BCPS Updates:

We are pleased to announce that Online Registration (OLR) for the 2026-2027 school year will officially open on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Please note a significant update to this year’s OLR process: we will be requiring all registering existing families to upload a current Photo ID/Driver's License of Parent/Guardian with their current address and 2 proofs of residency.

This is a necessary step to ensure the accuracy of our enrollment records and to ensure we have updated addresses for all our families.

We encourage you to begin preparing your necessary residency documentation ahead of the registration opening date, which will be March 9th.

Below you will find a list of acceptable documents:

Current Photo ID/Driver’s License

2 - Proofs of Residency:

-Authentic home builder contract with approved district transfer, lease, closing statement, or other home dwelling document.

-Utility bill: Current electricity, gas or water bill with current address

-Current employee check stub with current address

-Current vehicle registration that matches the driver’s license submitted

-Government agency correspondence with current address

    -Voter registration card

Thank you for your assistance as we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year.
