Last week was a great one for our students and staff as we focused on academic progress and growth. Our juniors completed the SAT, sophomores took the Practice SAT, and freshmen worked through benchmark testing in both math and English. We know these moments take focus and effort, and we’re proud of the hard work our students continue to show.
I want to sincerely thank our teachers for the energy and care they bring each day to ensure every student is learning and growing. And to our parents and families, thank you for your continued support at home. The partnership we share truly makes a difference in helping our students succeed.
We also had a big highlight this past weekend with prom. It was a wonderful event, and our students had a great time making memories together. Thank you to everyone who helped make the night so special for them.
As we move into this week, we’re continuing to push forward in all areas: academics, and athletics! Classrooms are moving full speed ahead, with teachers creating engaging experiences that help students connect what they’re learning to real life. Parents, thank you again for the encouragement and support you give your students each day. We appreciate the partnership and all you do to help keep them motivated and ready to learn.
I hope everyone was able to rest this weekend, let's start this week off with energy and excitement! Go Chargers!! |

Last Friday, during Charger Connect, students participated in an engaging 30-minute, Character-Strong lesson facilitated by their Charger Connect teacher. During the session, students explored the most common types of substances, what they are, and how they impact the brain and body. They learned to distinguish between stimulants and depressants, while also reflecting on the social pressures that can influence teens to experiment with substance use. Through interactive discussions and activities, students considered healthier alternatives for meeting those same needs.
The lesson also guided students in examining the short- and long-term risks associated with substance use and introduced practical strategies for resisting peer pressure. By the end of the session, students were able to answer key questions: What substances are most commonly abused by teens? And what are the short- and long-term effects of using them? |
