Last week at Bullitt East was full of meaningful learning and outstanding accomplishments! Our FFA students had the opportunity to visit Old Mill Elementary, where they shared their knowledge of farm animals and agricultural science, providing younger students with a hands-on, engaging learning experience. We are also incredibly proud of our choir program for earning Distinguished ratings at their KMEA performances, an impressive reflection of their talent, dedication, and hard work. Our spring sports are in full effect and our student athletes are representing BEHS well! Inside our classrooms, students continued to stay focused and engaged as teachers provided high-quality instruction and real-world learning opportunities each day. Thank you to our families for your continued support and partnership. Together, we are ensuring that every student has access to the best possible educational experience. We hope everyone had a restful weekend and are energized and motivated to start another great week at Bullitt East High School.

During Charger Connect on Friday, each grade level engaged in developmentally targeted activities to support self-awareness and connection. Freshman students explored perspective-taking, learning how to examine both their own viewpoints and those of others in order to better understand similarities and differences. Sophomores focused on evaluating personal values and overall well-being, with an emphasis on the three key elements: mental, social, and emotional health. Based on student feedback, facilitators were mindful not to over-define these areas, allowing for more authentic reflection. Juniors began a session on understanding themselves through storytelling. This session laid the groundwork for future discussions aimed at identifying, analyzing, and addressing barriers to belonging within our school community. Students reflected on and shared how they perceive themselves, as well as how they believe others see them, initiating meaningful dialogue and self-exploration. In place of Charger Connect, seniors attended a senior meeting where important end-of-year dates and events were shared to help them prepare for upcoming celebrations and activities.

Last Friday was a big win for Bullitt East as JB's Mac N Cheese & Spuds Food Truck debuted their brand-new look! This was their first setup since being wrapped in a custom design created entirely by our own Charger Artists.
Even better, JB created a signature "Charger Bowl" (mac & chicken) specifically to give back to our school. For every bowl ordered, $2.00 is donated directly to our art program.
A huge congratulations to the six students who collaborated on the design: Elijah Whittle, Braylin Srygler, Luca Schroer, Jenna Matta, Kylie Sullivan, and Madisyn Snawder. We also want to extend a special thank you to art teacher Lauren Kersey for the final rendering and for bringing this project to life.
