We hope you had a relaxing weekend after a long week of NTI! Here are your updates for this week:

RETURN TO SCHOOL (WE HOPE...)

We know this last week wasn't what anyone hoped for, but we appreciate all the efforts from students, staff, and families to support learning during our Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) days.  We're happy to report we had 99% participation across all 3 days!  

As we return to school next week (hopefully), please help your students get back into the rhythm of in-person learning by reinforcing school processes, procedures, and expectations.  

APEX LEADERSHIP PROGRAM UPDATES

The APEX Leadership Program that was scheduled to start last week has adjusted their time with us to now run from Tuesday, February 17 through Friday, February 27.  These changes were made to accommodate for interruptions due to weather impacts over the last week and to guard against any potential issues over the coming week.

Apex provides an amazing two-week interactive leadership program that encourages development of leadership habits, good character, and fitness.  Every student at our school participates in the daily leadership and character lessons, receives daily lesson silicone wristbands, enjoys classroom & school wide rewards, and takes part in the celebratory, high-energy fitness event.

SCHOOL CALENDAR UPDATES

With the use of 2 additional Snow Days last week, our school calendar has been extended through the last week of May.  Additionally, the potential use of schools for early voting on May 14-15 (Thursday-Friday) would further extend our school year with the tentative last day for students falling on Monday, June 1st.  

Dr. Bacon shared information at the last Board Meeting about the use of schools for Early Voting on May 14-15 and would encourage all concerned parents to reach out to State Board of Elections by February 5th to voice your concerns.  You can find their contact information HERE.
